  • Ceremony start time - 3:30 pm

  • Bridal party details (number of members on each side, flower girls, ring bearers, other) - 4 bridesmaids & 4 groomsmen, no ring bearer, no flower girl

Weather Details

  • Temperature (high/low or approximate) - In the mid 70s

  • Weather conditions (sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy, etc.) - On our wedding day, the weather was at a high in the mid 80s, but got cooler after the ceremony in the low 60s. We were lucky that it did not rain until after our sendoff! Amie did a wonderful job of helping our bridal party pack everything up when it did!

Wedding Package & Venue Use

  • How did you hear about Legacy Barn? - We found out about the Legacy Barn while searching for wedding venues on Google. The groom’s mother had also heard about this venue and recommended that we take a tour!

  • Wedding package selected (1, 2, or 3 day, Grand Service, Standard, or Micro)) - We selected the 2-day package to have the venue for all day Friday and Saturday! This was extremely helpful to us, as it allowed us to set up all day on Friday (with Amie’s help) and have our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding on Friday.

  • Ceremony location on property (Walnut Grove, Cross, Staircase, Pond, Inside, Other) - We chose to have our ceremony in the Walnut Grove. Thanks to the wonderful weather, we were able to successfully have it in the grove outside, which was wonderful!

  • Dance floor (inside or outside the barn) - We had our dance floor inside the barn.

Guest Experience

  • Estimated guest count - Approximately 110 guests

  • Style of event (formal, semi-formal, cocktail, casual, themed) - Formal event

  • Seating style (assigned table, assigned seat, open seating) - Assigned seating with a seating chart, so our guests knew which table to sit at.

  • Any special guest experiences or activities - As our guests walked up to the barn after the ceremony, we had a table where our guests signed in our guest book and were also able to write any advice for us and place it into an Advice box. We also had cornhole boards set up by the fire pit and the photo booth that Amie provided for us. In addition to this, we placed our guest favors (macaroons) on the table in boxes and provided our guests with sparklers that they could use to send us off. Amie was great at helping us light these!

Design & Style

  • Overall wedding style or vibee - The style and vibe of our wedding was warm and inviting, yet rustic, set against the wood-paneled barn. Our soft blush tones, as well as greenery and lanterns on the tables, created a glowing, cozy atmosphere. It was also easy to create this style and vibe in the barn, as Amie already had a large amount of decor already at the barn that we could use.

  • Color scheme - Our color scheme was made up of blush pinks, greens, creams, golds, with accents of dark navy blues! We really tried to go for a warm and delicate, yet rustic color scheme.

  • Décor highlights (arches, centerpieces, signage, lighting, etc.) - Some décor highlights include a beautifully decorated archway with white and pink flowers, with highlights of greenery. We also lined our wedding aisle with white roses placed in white vases. When guests approached the barn after the ceremony, they were greeted with a wedding table with a plethora of babies' breath and white and pink flowers, as well as gold-lined picture frames and boxes. We also incorporated a rustic, gold lined mirror that served as a seating chart for our guests. Inside the barn, our centerpieces consisted of lanterns on round slabs of wood that were decorated with greenery. We also placed our wedding favors and a dinner buffet menu on and around the wedding chargers. In addition to this, Amie helped us to surround our head table with fairy lights and our “Bells” signage against hanging cheesecloth. Another component that made our wedding special was our memories table that included pictures of our relatives in their weddings in different gold frames.

Attire

  • Wedding attire style - Our wedding attire style was formal

  • Wedding party attire colors/styles - The bridesmaids were in blush pink and the groomsmen were in dark navy blue with accents of blush pink

Food & Beverage

  • Appetizer menu - For our appetizers, we had a charcuterie style appetizer menu, as well as drinks at the bar during our cocktail hour!

  • Dinner menu - For dinner, we had romaine and sweet pepper salad alongside a BBQ corn salsa salad, both paired with our guests choice of pesto Caesar, buttermilk ranch, or vinaigrette dressing. Guests also enjoyed jalapeño cheddar cornbread, followed by a selection of sliced brisket, barbecue pulled pork, and tender shredded chicken. These were accompanied by classic sides including creamy macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and green beans!

  • Dessert menu - For dessert, we had cupcakes and fudge brownies that came from our dinner caterer, as well as cupcakes and a cake for us and our bridal party from J Edwards Bakery.

  • Bar service type (open, cash, hybrid) - We had an open bar!

Vendor Team

  • Caterer - Nameless Catering

  • Baker - J Edwards

  • Bartender - Legacy Barn

  • Photographer - Ashleigh Black Photography

  • DJ / Band - DJ Connection

  • Florist - Banner Flower House (only for my bouquet and the groomsmens’ boutonnières) The other flowers were fake and were provided by the Legacy Barn or arranged by myself and my maid of honor.

  • Planner or coordinator - Amie was an amazing planner and coordinator. We truly could not have gotten married without her wonderful empathy, understanding, and organizational skills. She was truly a blessing throughout our entire wedding-planning process!

  • Hair & makeup - Lefty Lucy Hair and Makeup

Timeline Highlights

  • First look or aisle reveal - We chose to do an aisle reveal!

  • Ceremony details (vows, readings, unity ceremony)) - We chose to read our personal vows to one another at the altar. In addition to this, we also chose to do communion at our wedding ceremony with one another in front of our wedding guests.

  • Special dances or performances - We decided to include a first dance, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, and an anniversary dance so we could involve as many of our guests as possible. It was important to us that everyone felt included in our celebration, and we hope these moments will encourage our loved ones to join us on the dance floor and truly feel part of our special day.

  • Speeches or toasts - We had our maid of honor and best man do speeches as our guests began to eat dinner.

  • Send off activity - For our send-off activity, we chose to do a sparkler send off at the end of the night as we drove off in an old Model-T car.

Favorite Moments

  • Couple’s favorite moment of the day - Although there were so many memorable moments from our wedding day, our favorite moment of the day was seeing one another as we walked down the aisle and reading our vows to one another. It was so special to see all our friends and family in one place to celebrate our marriage ceremony. After our marriage ceremony, we also had a wonderful time taking photos with our photographer, Ashleigh Black. She really made the day special for us and was great at capturing all of our intimate moments throughout our wedding day.

  • Guest reactions or standout moments - Some standout moments that the guests loved and enjoyed were our ceremony and watching us read our wedding vows to one another. They also loved seeing our dip at the end of the aisle and ringing the bell near the Walnut Grove. In addition to this, our guests really enjoyed watching our first dance together as a couple and dancing the night away with us on the dance floor! The sparkler send off and the Model-T getaway car also got a lot of guest reactions.

Advice & Reflections

  • Best advice for future couples - Some advice we have for future couples are to take everything with a grain of salt. Not everything will go perfectly on your wedding day, but at the end of the day, it’s about creating a covenant with each other and spending your lives with one another! Leading up to our special day, we really leaned into everything that everyone did to help us and do for us, even if it wasn’t “perfect” because it is the covenant you make with one another that really counts.

  • One thing that made the day feel “perfect” - One thing that really made the day and this whole experience so special was the endless care and support we received from Amie, our bridal party, and our family and friends. Without them, we would not have been able to have this special day, especially just graduating from college the very same year! From decorating, to planning, to making sure that the logistics were in order, the Legacy Barn and everyone made that happen so wonderfully. In addition to this, our vendors were truly amazing in helping us make all the details happen on our special day!

  • What they loved most about the venue - What we loved the most about the venue was the care and support we received from the staff and Amie. Her team really made sure everything was perfect for our special day. In addition to this, the barn already had so many wonderful components, including signage, dishware, cornhole boards, etc. that allowed us to focus our attention on other larger details. Aside from this, the venue itself is beautiful. Getting married in the Walnut Grove and taking wedding portraits in the Walnut Grove was a dream come true. In addition to this, the overlooking deck, chandelier, and rustic scenery made it the perfect barn to get married in. We would highly recommend getting married at the Legacy Barn for any couple who is looking for a warm, welcoming wedding venue location!
